This book captivated me with great storytelling。 The short POV sections with Mason, a boy with Autism, kept me hoping for more clues from him throughout。 I was so ready to give this 5 stars, until the last two chapters。 It fell short and left me hanging as to what happened to one of the important characters。 I’d hoped it would end with him saying something to wrap it all together。 Still a great read, one that kept me turning pages quickly。

This is the second Lucinda Berry book that I felt like I was left hanging at the end。 I really wanted everyone’s story to wrap up。 I don’t dedicate my time to the characters to not know their fate。 Blah。 It was a great read until the very end though。

FantasticWow, this book was excellent! The characters were so realistic。 I loved all twists。 It was a very satisfying mystery with lots of suspense。 The ending was perfect!

Wow What an ending。 This story was kinda predictable but I loved the ending。

Wowie, the subject material is something out of a horror film。 How she thought this novel up, is beyond me。 I cannot fathom a mother acting the way this mom did。 But I know I am naive and always look at the good in everyone。

Erin Ellis Lane

Very predictable but still a fun。

I got an ARC of this book, and I'm hoping most of the issues I had were fixed in the final edits。To start: this was a great story! Two moms of children with Autism are the points of view in this murder mystery- one the mother of a boy whose Autism was cute when he was little, but not so cute as a large, strong teen。 He's found, covered in blood, over the body of the mayor's wife, and his mom is insisting he is innocent。 The other main character is a therapist who specializes on working with chil I got an ARC of this book, and I'm hoping most of the issues I had were fixed in the final edits。To start: this was a great story! I thought this was such a good book until I got to the end。 What a disappointment。 I wanted to know what happened to the 3 main characters after the big ending, but it was the author's acknowledgements。 A mayor's wife is murdered & the main suspect is Mason Hill, son of Genevieve, a former beauty pageant winner & Staple to the community。 Mason is autistic。 The police ask Casey Walker, an autism specialist to be a consultant on the case。 Genevieve can be overbearing & quick to control Mason。 Case I thought this was such a good book until I got to the end。 What a disappointment。 I wanted to know what happened to the 3 main characters after the big ending, but it was the author's acknowledgements。 A mayor's wife is murdered & the main suspect is Mason Hill, son of Genevieve, a former beauty pageant winner & Staple to the community。 Mason is autistic。 The police ask Casey Walker, an autism specialist to be a consultant on the case。 Genevieve can be overbearing & quick to control Mason。 Casey begins to get suspicious of Genevieve due to Mason's conflicting test scores along with Genevieve's changing of her story to the police。 Casey tries to get the police who are ready to nail Mason for the crime to see Mason as a victim & a gentle giant。 Secrets become unraveled。 I've read a few of Lucinda Berry's books before & have enjoyed them; however, this isn't the only book I've read of hers that has a disappointing ending where you don't really know what happens to the characters during or after the end。 I'm giving it 2 stars because the ending sucked。 I look forward to more of Lucinda Berry's books & am not giving up yet。 。。。more

I knew pretty early on where the twists and turns were headed, portions of the mother/son dynamic almost made me put it down without finishing-but instead I skimmed through the character convos through to the end so I could see how it all wrapped up

This was my first Lucinda Berry book and I was expecting much more based on recommendations。 It really left me hanging with too many unanswered questions。

Another excellent story from Lucinda Berry! This book was captivating - her writing is so realistic which made the story so much more engrossing。 I loved the dynamic between the characters - each character was fully developed which added to the overall story。 My only critique is that I would have liked to understand the story more from Mason's perspective。 I enjoyed the last chapter on Savannah's perspective, so I would have liked an additional chapter told from Mason's point of view。 ARC provid Another excellent story from Lucinda Berry! where’s the ending?!I read this almost straight through。 Pop culture was too much, but the twists were pretty good。 Then, there’s no closure。 What a waste of my time。

I think I’ve found a new favorite author。 I love a good thriller and mind bender - and Lucinda Berry delivers! Calm and methodical, she weaves through the perspectives of each character, slowly building a complex web of truths, lies, and everything in between。 She perfectly explores how dangerous the mind can be, and just how vicious people can be。 You might think you know where the ending is headed, but I guarantee you don’t! Highly recommend。

This book had me on the edge of my seat and was very well written。 I was hooked and couldn't wait to read in full。 The author's knowledge on autism clearly shines through and I learned a lot about it due to this。 I appreciated this aspect of it however from reading other reviews I am also learning that the information provided in this book is not proper and the author uses terminology that she maybe shouldn't have。 I enjoy books that switch from multiple points of view / characters so if you don This book had me on the edge of my seat and was very well written。 I was hooked and couldn't wait to read in full。 The author's knowledge on autism clearly shines through and I learned a lot about it due to this。 I appreciated this aspect of it however from reading other reviews I am also learning that the information provided in this book is not proper and the author uses terminology that she maybe shouldn't have。 I enjoy books that switch from multiple points of view / characters so if you don't, this isn't for you。 Each chapter and POV gives a little bit more insight so you as a reader can begin putting the mystery together yourself, making it an interactive read。 The "mystery" is not incredibly hard to figure out in all honesty but the actual mystery within the book is not the murder mystery we are originally led to believe。 My 2 star review falls solely on the very abrupt ending where you are left assuming how it plays out, once the truth is confirmed。 There is a great plot twist at the end however this twist leaves us with even more questions! There is no epilogue that gives us a recap of how the characters are doing after the official investigation, official charges that (we can only assume) were given, how the abused party may be doing, etc。 The entire plot was about the main character using her knowledge to assist with a criminal investigation and therefore, proving her theories about said investigation。 We know that she was able to do this, but there is no ending, which quite frankly seems very rushed as the lack of detail within the last several chapters is very, very minimal compared to the detail throughout the entire book。 It really seems that this book attempted to be about autism and how it plays into a very public matter, but the book *actually* focuses on another main character's mental illness, that again, we never get information about or closure with。 I have heard great things about this author and plan to read other books from her, but this one was not a hit。 。。。more

That's it?Though the story was written to keep your attention and make you wondering who actually did what and when。 The story leaves the reader with major cliff hangers its not done : so we're letting Genevieve get away with killing her husband and abusing Mason? Mason may well finally get better but we don't get to see or hear about it besides having a possible murder conviction hanging over his head? Was Savanah Annabelle's killer or Brett?
